Prof. Samuel Sejjaaka is an accountant by profession who has lectured, regulated and practiced accounting, auditing and finance for over 30 years. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) upper second degree of Makerere University, Kampala; a Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Science of Makerere University; Master of Science in Financial Studies from the University of Strathclyde (UK). He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) of the United Kingdom and also a full member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPA-U). He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting and Finance of Makerere University.

Prof. Sejjaaka has worked with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development as a financial and fiscal systems consultant in the areas of public expenditure, budget management and fiscal policy planning. He later served as the Deputy Principal of the Makerere University Business School and currently, he is the Country Lead of MAT Abacus Business School and a professor of accounting and finance at MAT Abacus Business School. He has served on a number of key Boards of Directors in Uganda as chairman, chair of Audit and Risk Committees (ARC) and as a member inclusive of chairing the Board of directors of Uganda Development Bank; Member of the BoD and Chair ARC of Stanbic Bank, UAP Insurance; Rexba and many others in the private sector. The professor is a keen golfer.

Professor Sejjaaka is an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda and once served as a member of the Uganda Public Accountants Examination Board. As service to the community, Prof. Sejjaaka has served the Buganda Kingdom as a Member of the great Lukiiko (Parliament) of Buganda Kingdom and special advisor on finance matters to the Kingdom and the palace.
